In addition to the different programmes carried out to promote research, ”la Caixa” Foundation also has strategic alliances with major centres that lead research in their field and supports great institutions.
Well-established collaborative project with Portugal's Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
In 2019 the Vall d'Hebron Hospital opened its Migraine Adaptive Brain Center, a pioneer in migraine research and treatment.
The DACER Foundation in Madrid has been able to acquire an exoskeleton for the rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain injury.

Achievements in 2019

23 initiatives of scientific excellence and great potential value and impact for society were selected in the Call for Health Research Grants. The aim of this call, which is open and competitive, is to promote projects of excellence in the fight against diseases with the greatest impact in the world. In total, "la Caixa" Foundation has allocated over €15 million to this call for applications.
