736 new projects by social organisations for a fairer society

In favour of equal opportunities and a better quality of life, this programme by ”la Caixa” Foundation collaborates with non-profit organisations to promote initiatives aimed especially at people in vulnerable situations.
The grants are in line with both the Strategic Plan 2016-2019 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The programme includes six general social subsidies and three regional.

This annual report explains the link between the programmes of ”la Caixa” Foundation and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Prémios BPI ”la Caixa”

Two new calls for applications have reinforced the Prémios BPI ”la Caixa” with a total of 120 projects selected to benefit 21,251 people.

The Prémios BPI ”la Caixa” Infáncia are aimed at supporting children in vulnerable situations while BPI ”la Caixa” Rural promotes social action in rural areas.

These new initiatives complement the aid already granted through the Prémio Solidário for young people and adults in vulnerable situations, the Prémio Seniores for people over 65 and the Prémio Capacitar for people with disabilities.

The Promove Border Regions programme aims to promote innovative pilot projects that help to transform and boost Portugal's inland areas, as well as ideas with the potential to become innovative pilot projects.

Intelligent technological pill dispenser. With monthly dose capacity, monitored support service and information bracelet with alerts.

Sustainability of the planet

Organisation: University of Beira Interior. Central Region.

Installation of filters to capture CO2 from industry and reuse it, associated with the subsequent reduction in taxes and recognition of sustainability for companies incorporating the filters.

Archaeological heritage

Organisation: Fundação Cidade de Ammaia. South Region, Marvão.

Consolidation and analysis of structures of the recently discovered Roman theatre of Ammaia, the third most important in Lusitania.
